About the position

The HR Specialist - Talent Acquisition at VELCO is responsible for developing and implementing effective recruiting strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified candidates. This role involves actively recruiting through various channels, building relationships with educational institutions, and ensuring a fair and efficient hiring process. The Specialist will manage the full recruiting lifecycle, from sourcing candidates to onboarding new hires, while maintaining compliance with employment laws and company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the full recruiting lifecycle across various open roles.
  • Leverage job boards and social networks to attract active and passive job seekers.
  • Devise and implement broad sourcing strategies to build applicant pipelines.
  • Participate in career fairs and grow VELCO's college network.
  • Partner with HR and Communications to evolve VELCO's external Careers page.
  • Work closely with hiring managers to understand hiring needs and support the recruitment process.
  • Design and implement customized recruiting strategies for each vacancy.
  • Pre-screen resumes and conduct preliminary interviews.
  • Schedule interviews and oversee preparation of interview materials.
  • Check references and ensure compliance with employment laws.
  • Manage the candidate experience throughout the interview process.
  • Coordinate the offer and onboarding processes with hiring managers.
  • Maintain records in the applicant tracking database and report on recruitment metrics.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in talent acquisition or recruitment.
  • Strong understanding of recruitment strategies and sourcing techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with educational institutions and professional organizations.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems.
