About the position

The HR Specialist at Aloha Workforce Management Solutions is a temporary role focused on managing various human resources functions for clients. This position is integral to ensuring smooth HR operations, responding to client needs, and maintaining compliance with labor legislation. The role emphasizes communication, problem-solving, and collaboration within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review compensation and benefits packages for clients
  • Process terminations and write ups per protocol for clients
  • Implement training and development plans as required
  • Fundamental understanding of FMLA
  • Plan quarterly and annual performance review sessions as requested from clients
  • Complete investigations and performance plans per protocol
  • Update employee records with new hire information and/or changes in employment status
  • Maintain organizational charts and detailed job descriptions along with salary records
  • Develop and implement HR policies throughout the organization
  • Process employees' and client queries and respond in a timely manner
  • Stay up-to-date and comply with changes in labor legislation
  • Process HR requests from clients in a timely and professional manner
  • Overhaul handbooks for clients as required
  • Conduct in-person trainings per client's request and HR conflict resolutions
  • Manage multi-state HR functions
  • Ensure workplace safety and harassment prevention
  • Assess reports provided by the HR team to determine employee performance and training needs
  • Suggest changes in policies and procedures based on employee and company needs
  • Research compensation standards to create salary structures and administer employee benefits
  • Create recruitment plans, interview schedules, and evaluation standards
  • Supervise all HR activities, communications, reports, requests, and documents
  • Attend interdepartmental meetings with other managers
  • Oversee exit interviews and procedures
  • Conduct client in-person meetings

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as an HR Specialist or HR Generalist
  • Hands-on experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), like BambooHR and PeopleSoft
  • Knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems
  • Solid understanding of labor legislation and payroll process
  • Familiarity with FMLA and COVID
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good problem-solving abilities
  • Team management skills
  • Expert in labor laws set by governing authorities and organizations
  • Strong computer skills and experience with office management and communication software
  • Ability to understand statistical data and mathematical concepts and how to apply them to HR processes
  • Excellent leadership, training and developmental skills
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Bilingual - Spanish
