About the position

The HR Specialist at Woodgrain plays a crucial role in fostering a supportive work environment and ensuring an engaged workforce. This position involves collaborating with managers and team members to resolve workplace issues, managing HR processes, and supporting recruitment efforts to attract top talent. The HR Specialist will also maintain accurate employee records and facilitate various HR programs and services, contributing to the overall HR function within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate a supportive work environment and an engaged workforce consistent with the Woodgrain values and culture.
  • Collaborate with managers and team members to assist in resolving workplace issues.
  • Enter new hire onboarding documents.
  • Maintain accurate Team Members files.
  • Manage unemployment claims.
  • Serve as a resource on human resource policies and processes.
  • Evaluate and respond to human resource issues, consulting with HR team members when appropriate.
  • Collaboratively support other HR team members.
  • Initiate and maintain HR programs and services, including recognition programs and monthly safety training.
  • Act as a resource for HR information.
  • Assist with preparation of open enrollment materials and organize meetings.
  • Run a paperless HR function and seek automated HR solutions.
  • Develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract top talent and fill open positions in a timely manner.
  • Support the full-cycle recruiting process, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Establish relationships with hiring managers to understand their hiring needs.
  • Conduct candidate assessments, interviews, and reference checks, providing feedback to applicants.
  • Develop job postings and manage job boards.

Requirements

  • HS diploma required; BS in management, HR or a related degree preferred.
  • 3 plus years of relevant Human Resources experience required.
  • Proficient in Outlook and Excel.
