About the position

We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for an HR Specialist in Irving, Texas. This role is primarily focused on sourcing and screening potential recruits, handling onboarding and new permanent orientations, and maintaining efficient administrative procedures. The HR Specialist will be responsible for partnering with operations and district managers, as well as vocational schools, to facilitate talent acquisition. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that the recruitment process is smooth and effective, contributing to the overall success of the organization by bringing in qualified candidates who align with the company's values and goals. In this position, the HR Specialist will engage in various activities including sourcing potential candidates through job boards and LinkedIn, reviewing and screening resumes, and conducting welcome calls with new hires. The role also involves completing background checks and addressing any benefits-related questions that new hires may have. The HR Specialist will maintain administrative procedures, including reporting on new hires, and will collaborate closely with operations and district managers to ensure a seamless onboarding experience. Additionally, the HR Specialist will engage in light sourcing and market research to identify potential talent pools, ensuring that the company has access to a diverse range of candidates. The HR Specialist will also be responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction by efficiently resolving inquiries related to HR functions. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards of service throughout the recruitment and onboarding processes.

Responsibilities

  • Source potential candidates through various platforms such as job boards and LinkedIn.
  • Review and screen resumes to identify suitable candidates.
  • Handle onboarding procedures for new hires and serve as their main point of contact.
  • Conduct welcome calls and quality control calls with new hires.
  • Collaborate with operations and district managers to ensure smooth onboarding process.
  • Complete background checks for potential hires and address benefits-related questions.
  • Engage in light sourcing and market research to identify potential talent pools.
  • Maintain administrative procedures, including reporting on new hires.
  • Partner with vocational schools and military recruiting avenues for talent acquisition.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by resolving customer inquiries related to HR functions efficiently.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the Service industry
  • Proficiency in onboarding new employees and conducting new employee orientations
  • Demonstrable experience in Human Resources (HR) Administration
  • Proven track record of mentoring new hires and training new employees
  • Prior experience in handling employee relations and ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Ability to provide administrative assistance when necessary
  • Experience in benefits administration
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
