About the position

The HR Specialist at HALO plays a crucial role in supporting various HR functions, including mergers and acquisitions, HRIS management, payroll activities, and employee onboarding/offboarding. This position is designed for individuals who thrive in a dynamic environment and are eager to contribute to multiple HR disciplines while collaborating closely with HR leadership and team members.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate HR operational aspects of merger and acquisition efforts including HR due diligence and onboarding planning.
• Assist with updates and maintenance to HRIS and other systems in the HR tech stack.
• Support HR team members with government compliance reporting and special reporting requests.
• Maintain payroll and timekeeping information by researching situations and processing outputs.
• Provide guidance on employee inquiries via shared HR mailbox and phone line.
• Assist in the full life cycle recruiting process including job description creation and candidate communications.
• Support the onboarding process of new hires and the employee separations process.
• Serve as backup to other Human Resources Operations team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in human resource management or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of proven work experience as an HR professional across 3 or more HR disciplines.
• Experience in HR and benefit aspects of mergers and acquisitions required.
• Solid understanding of Federal, State, and local labor and employment laws.
• Experience with or knowledge of Payroll & HRIS systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• Time management and prioritization skills.
• Excellent spelling, grammar, and attention to detail.
