About the position

The HR Specialist position at the Archdiocese of St. Louis is designed to provide comprehensive human resources support for lay staff at the Vicariate level, as well as serve as a resource for parishes and schools within the Archdiocese. The role focuses on managing the recruiting and onboarding processes, ensuring data integrity in HR systems, and assisting with various HR functions such as job description preparation and leave administration.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full-service recruiting, hiring, and onboarding process for parishes and schools within the designated Vicariate.
• Post open positions and place recruitment ads using the SAP/SuccessFactors HRIS system.
• Conduct hiring seminars and screen candidates for qualifications through interviews.
• Assist in the ongoing maintenance and revision of job descriptions for various positions.
• Field questions and provide direction on employment application processes using the HRIS system.
• Process requests for HR/Payroll/Benefits system transactions from designated contacts.
• Conduct new hire reference checks, background checks, and drug screens as required.
• Administer New Hire Orientation, covering compensation, benefits, and administrative tasks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree with three years of prior experience in Human Resources.
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding personnel data.
• Excellent service skills to work effectively with all levels of employees and external contacts.
• Technical knowledge of Human Resources practices and regulatory compliance.

Nice-to-haves
