The HR Specialist is a part of the Human Resources function, working closely with both the local HR Managers and Business Leaders to execute HR-related initiatives. The HR Specialist will be responsible for the administration of HR policies, procedures, and processes such as workforce actions, employee relations, and discrete projects. This role will require process, systems, and planning skill sets, a strong customer service mindset, and consultative capabilities. In this role, you will partner with the HR manager to plan, coordinate, and implement people programs and processes, such as workforce initiatives, tuition reimbursement, acquisitions and divestitures, and discrete projects, ensuring consistent support and program application. You will work with centers of excellence to support the delivery of central services and participate on project teams for key initiatives, defining efficient and effective processes, tools, training, communications, and change management. Maintaining compliance with state and federal employment laws and company policies is crucial, as is maintaining positive employee relations and driving a culture of inclusion, positivity, and high engagement. You will also investigate employee relations issues, partnering with the HR Manager and site leaders to resolve them, and ensure a sustainable, effective onboarding process while playing an active role and influencing site leadership involvement, creativity, and engagement. Additionally, you will produce reporting and analytics to provide HR functional leaders with insight into the effectiveness of the programs and areas of improvement, leveraging tools and techniques to propose process improvements to ensure best-in-class support and operations. Lastly, you will ensure standard operating procedures (SOPs) are being followed and non-compliant items are escalated as appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Work with HR manager and third-party benefits company regarding leaves of absence.
  • Maintain positive employee relations and drive a culture of inclusion, positivity, and high engagement.
  • Investigate employee relations issues partnering with the HR Manager and site leaders to resolve.
  • Ensure a sustainable, effective onboarding process while playing an active role and influencing site leadership involvement, creativity, and engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related discipline - Preferred
  • 3+ years of professional HR experience in a fast-paced environment - Required
  • Project planning and process skills

  • Critical thinking and analytical skills, with an attention to detail
  • Collaborative and team player
  • Demonstrates good judgement and maintains confidentiality
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple priorities
  • Advanced computer skills to include the use of computer programs such as Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); other HR systems experience.
