About the position

The HR Specialist at KVC Health Systems plays a crucial role in supporting the organization's compliance efforts for current employees. This position involves conducting background checks, scheduling health assessments, and assisting with employee onboarding. The role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that all compliance documentation is handled professionally and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Foster respect and inclusivity by treating colleagues and community members with empathy.
  • Oversee health assessments by scheduling and managing employee health checks, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Conduct annual background checks and securely store results, assisting employees with fingerprinting and discrepancies.
  • Manage RapBack enrollment for ongoing background check compliance, tracking registrations and addressing issues.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Support new hires by facilitating onboarding processes, including background checks and orientations.
  • Ensure state licensing compliance by liaising with state agencies and keeping updated on regulatory changes.
  • Provide administrative support to HR staff and collaborate with team members to streamline processes.
  • Prepare for audits by organizing documentation and ensuring compliance for annual audits.
  • Learn compliance processes and advocate for best practices within the organization.
  • Handle miscellaneous HR tasks such as processing invoices and managing office supplies.
  • Take on additional projects as needed, ensuring efficient task completion.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Some experience in Human Resources is required, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills are necessary.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Nice-to-haves

  • Interest in working within a fast-paced HR department.
  • Experience in working with child welfare is a plus.
