About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Labor Relations Analyst to oversee our client's labor relations policies, practices, and procedures. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with a deep understanding of labor laws and regulations. This role is crucial in ensuring that labor agreements are negotiated effectively and that all parties adhere to the stipulations set forth in these agreements. The Labor Relations Analyst will work closely with Human Resources and management teams to review and analyze labor contracts and agreements, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and sector regulations. In this position, you will participate in the negotiation process of various labor agreements, maintaining regular communication with union representatives to address their questions or concerns promptly and professionally. You will also be responsible for investigating and resolving labor disputes in a timely and satisfactory manner, monitoring the implementation of collective bargaining agreements, and ensuring adherence by all parties involved. Additionally, you will develop, revise, and interpret company policies and procedures related to labor relations, keeping informed on current labor relations laws, trends, and practices to ensure that all policies and procedures meet any new regulations. Training sessions for supervisors and managers on labor relations topics will also be part of your responsibilities, aimed at encouraging a healthy and productive work environment. You will prepare reports and documentation regarding labor relations activities, providing insights and recommendations to improve current policies based on your research and analysis of labor management topics and other associated human resources issues.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the negotiation process of various labor agreements and ensure stipulations are in compliance with corporate policies and sector regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Labor Relations, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in labor relations, preferably within the targeted industry.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws and regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR management software.
  • Ability to handle sensitive issues with confidentiality and discretion.
  • Well-versed in contract interpretation and dispute resolution.
  • Possession of relevant professional certifications is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the Local Government sector.
  • Proficiency in ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now is required.
  • Knowledge and experience with ATS - Asynchronous Transfer Mode.
  • Experience with Ceridian and CRM software is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of About Time software is an advantage.
  • Strong auditing skills are essential.
  • Adept in handling Benefit Functions.
  • Compliance management experience is necessary.
  • Experience in Labor Relations is crucial.
  • Candidates must have the legal right to work in the location of the job.
  • A proven track record of maintaining professional and ethical work conduct is necessary.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently is required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
