Being part of the global Freudenberg Group, our company is a leading producer of advanced sealing technologies for automotive and general industries. Freudenberg-NOK Sealing Technologies is a joint venture between Freudenberg and NOK Corp. in Japan, is headquartered in Plymouth, MI, operates more than 20 facilities and employs about 4,700 people across the Americas. As an HR Specialist, you will provide essential administrative support to the HR department, ensuring smooth operations and effective communication within the team. Your responsibilities will include coordinating meetings, conferences, and expense reporting for the Vice President of HR, as well as maintaining employee files and assisting with new hire orientations. You will also manage benefits administration, including answering inquiries related to short-term disability and overseeing health equity inquiries. Additionally, you will play a key role in payroll backup, wellness initiatives, and employee events coordination. Your contributions will help foster a positive work environment and support the overall mission of Freudenberg-NOK Sealing Technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the HR department, including coordination of meetings, conferences, and expense reporting for the Vice President of HR.
  • Assist with orientation, including policy introduction, signoffs, and I-9 documentation collection.
  • Manage new hire and termination notifications to admins and send termination announcements to PLY.
  • Send out Offboarding Survey upon termination notice.
  • Answer and escalate questions relating to short-term disability and manage Health Equity inquiries and ID verifications.
  • Provide payroll backup and update PAF as needed.
  • Assist with wellness initiatives and send out monthly newsletters.
  • Coordinate employee events and setups, including Gym Subsidies payments for employees in the region.
  • Own the Biometric screening initiative.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a human resources role, preferably in an administrative or support capacity.
  • Familiarity with HRIS and payroll is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Basic understanding of HR laws and regulations.
