About the position

The HR Specialist will oversee and manage payroll activities and employee benefits programs, serving as the primary contact for employees and benefits providers. This role involves organizing onboarding and offboarding processes, executing HR projects, and ensuring compliance with HR policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll for employees in the U.S. and Canada.
• Administer employee insurance plans, including health, dental, life, and disability.
• Execute the administration of 401(k), Roth, and other retirement savings plans.
• Reconcile benefit invoices and manage Worker's Compensation reporting.
• Organize, coordinate and conduct onboarding and offboarding processes.
• Coordinate and support HR audit activities.
• Ensure compliance with employee-related laws and regulations.
• Review and recommend improvements to HR processes, including the Employee Handbook.
• Assist in independent special projects within HR, such as compensation benchmarking.
• Respond to employee requests and collaborate with internal departments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant HR experience.
• Demonstrated experience in payroll administration and compliance with tax regulations.
• Experience with ADP Payroll, specifically Workforce Now, is highly desired.
• In-depth knowledge of state and federal labor laws and regulations.
• PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
