About the position

The Human Resources (HR) Specialist at Butterball plays a crucial role in the efficient functioning of the HR department. This position is responsible for various HR tasks that support the corporate employee workforce, including recruitment, onboarding, maintaining employee records, and ensuring compliance with HR policies. The HR Specialist serves as a vital link between the HR team, employees, and management, fostering a positive work environment while executing HR processes effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update HR records, databases, and employee personnel files to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Process employee changes, including legal name changes, updating addresses, contact information, promotions, transfers, and terminations within the HRIS.
  • Oversee the onboarding process for new hires, facilitating orientation and coordinating schedules with hiring managers.
  • Support the Talent Acquisition team by coordinating interview panels and welcoming candidates on-site.
  • Administer employee engagement efforts such as announcements, service awards, and social events.
  • Manage administrative functions surrounding leaves of absence and workplace accommodations, including FMLA and ADA.
  • Facilitate employee separation procedures, conducting exit interviews and issuing documentation during departures.
  • Provide support for interpreting and communicating HR policies to employees.
  • Address general HR inquiries and provide guidance on HR-related matters.
  • Prepare HR reports and documents for internal and external purposes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve HR objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field preferred.
  • 2-3 years of HR experience, focusing on HR Coordination functions.
  • Proficient in HRIS systems such as Workday, PeopleSoft, or SAP.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with leave administration best practices.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations (e.g., FLSA, ADEA, EEO, ADA, FMLA).
  • Ability to cultivate working relationships with employees at all levels.
