About the position

We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for an HR Specialist in North Las Vegas, Nevada. This role operates within the HR function, providing technical support and performing general assistance duties across various HR sectors. The HR Specialist will be expected to manage tasks related to talent acquisition, labor and employee relations, benefits, organizational development, and HRIS. The position requires a proactive approach to HR operations, ensuring that all processes are executed efficiently and effectively. The HR Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the HR team and contributing to the overall success of the organization by facilitating various HR functions and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. In this role, the HR Specialist will provide technical support in various HR functions including talent acquisition, labor and employee relations, benefits, and organizational development. The individual will perform day-to-day activities for assigned HR functional areas, manage the preparation and organization of agendas and reports, and handle the coordination and reporting of metrics. Additionally, the HR Specialist will carry out recruitment and selection support duties, including screening applications, notifying candidates, and coordinating training setups. The role also involves facilitating pre-employment background checks, drug screenings, physicals, and other pre-employment processes, ensuring that all candidates meet the necessary requirements before joining the organization. The HR Specialist will maintain and update the HR Communication Team Board and provide administrative support to the HR city-wide employee newsletter when needed. Utilizing HRIS systems for data entry, information preparation for reporting, and maintaining accurate records will be essential. The individual will conduct operational activities, including tracking vendor training communications, revising manuals and operating procedures, and performing other detailed tasks as required. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Proficiency in ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now
  • Experience with ATS - Asynchronous Transfer Mode
  • Familiarity with Ceridian and CRM systems
  • Experience with About Time software
  • Strong auditing skills
  • Knowledge of Benefit Functions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Understanding of compliance procedures
  • Proficiency in Oracle
  • Experience with Workday, Workday HRIS, and Workday Integration
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
