About the position

The HR Specialist will be responsible for overseeing various Human Resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and compliance with HR policies. This role aims to ensure smooth HR operations and foster a healthy workplace environment.

Responsibilities

  • Recruitment and onboarding of employees, including creating job requisitions and coordinating pre-employment activities.
  • Generate necessary reports for payroll and HR, coordinating all HR-related documents for job/employee status changes.
  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate various training programs in compliance with OSHA regulations and standards.
  • Maintain proper documentation and assist with employee relations issues and vendor/supplier communication.
  • Conduct new hire orientation and ensure rules, regulations, and CBA information is reviewed and understood.
  • Assist with employee recognition programs.
  • Participate in various aspects of safety, including safety audits and training programs.
  • Compile and analyze monthly and annual statistics, preparing and distributing various reports.
  • Assist the HR Manager with Community Engagement activities and other corporate initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of demonstrated HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Google Suite.
  • Familiarity with standard HR concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Proficiency in navigation of HRIS and related systems (Workday, ATS, ADP, eTime, PeopleSoft, etc.).
  • Intermediate knowledge of employment law.
  • Exposure to OSHA reporting, regulations, and compliance.
