About the position

The HR Specialist at Butterball, LLC plays a crucial role in the Human Resources department, ensuring efficient operations and supporting the corporate employee workforce. This position encompasses various HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee record maintenance, and compliance with HR policies. The HR Specialist serves as a vital link between employees and management, fostering a positive work environment and facilitating smooth HR processes.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and updates HR records, HR databases, and employee personnel files to ensure full compliance with regulations.
  • Processes employee changes, including legal name changes, updating addresses, contact information, promotions, transfers, organizational changes, and terminations within the HRIS.
  • Oversees the onboarding process for corporate new hires, facilitating orientation and coordinating schedules with hiring managers.
  • Collaborates with the Talent Acquisition team to coordinate corporate interview panels and welcome candidates.
  • Administers employee engagement efforts such as announcements, service awards, and social events.
  • Manages administrative functions surrounding leaves of absence and workplace accommodations, including FMLA and ADA.
  • Facilitates employee separation procedures by conducting exit interviews and issuing documentation during departures.
  • Provides support for the interpretation and communication of HR policies to employees.
  • Addresses general HR inquiries and provides guidance on HR-related matters.
  • Prepares HR reports and documents for internal and external purposes.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to achieve HR objectives.

Requirements

  • Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment in HR best practices, policies, and employment laws.
  • Ability to tactfully deal with sensitive situations while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Strong organization and time management skills to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to cultivate working relationships with employees at all levels while delivering high customer service.
  • Effective in both team-oriented and independent work settings.
  • Ability to respond urgently to employee matters and concerns.
  • Strong analytical skills for data-driven decision making.
  • Thorough knowledge of HR and leave administration best practices.
  • Solid understanding of employment laws and regulations (e.g., FLSA, ADEA, EEO, ADA, FMLA).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suites and HRIS databases.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field preferred.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years HR experience, with a focus on HR Coordination functions.
