About the position

The HR Specialist will play a crucial role in managing various human resources functions within a leading biotech firm. This position involves overseeing recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, and ensuring compliance with employment laws. The HR Specialist will contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures, fostering a positive work environment and supporting the company's growth.

Responsibilities

• Manage the recruitment process, including job postings, application screening, coordinating interviews, and managing the onboarding process.
• Administer various HR plans and procedures for all company personnel.
• Process, verify, and maintain personnel-related documentation, including employment contracts, employee leaves, or staffing.
• Implement and update compensation program; rewrite job descriptions as necessary.
• Administer benefits programs such as life, health, and dental insurance; pension plans; vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
• Develop, recommend, and implement personnel policies and procedures.
• Conduct new-employee orientations to foster a positive attitude toward company goals.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an HR Specialist or similar role.
• Familiarity with labor laws and HR best practices.
• Knowledgeable in all areas of human resources.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS, and comfortable with leveraging new systems.
• Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• A bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field with a minimum of 2 years experience as an HR Specialist is preferred.
