About the position

The HR Specialist at SL Alabama, LLC is responsible for providing comprehensive consultation on compensation and benefits programs, managing employee welfare initiatives, and advising on labor relations. This role ensures compliance with local laws and internal policies while fostering a positive work environment. The HR Specialist will also develop training sessions, manage workplace conflicts, and act as a liaison between headquarters and local operations, ensuring effective communication and adherence to corporate guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consultation on compensation and benefits programs, ensuring alignment with policies and local laws.
  • Manage and coordinate employee welfare programs, ensuring compliance with internal policies and legal requirements.
  • Advise on labor relations and union matters, navigating collective bargaining agreements and addressing grievances.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions on workplace behavior and HR best practices.
  • Address and resolve workplace conflicts related to wage disputes, harassment, and safety concerns.
  • Manage workplace accidents and implement corrective actions to address safety violations.
  • Draft and review employment contracts, collective bargaining agreements, and HR policy documentation.
  • Develop and implement policies on severance pay, retirement benefits, and workplace safety protocols.
  • Provide ongoing support to employees regarding severance pay, unemployment benefits, and workplace injury claims.
  • Act as a liaison between headquarters and SL Alabama, collaborating with labor unions to manage conflicts.
  • Create educational and promotional materials to communicate HR policy updates effectively.
  • Write internal columns and reports on HR practices and labor law updates.

Requirements
