About the position

The HR Specialist plays a crucial role in coordinating and administering HR programs and services for US employees, focusing on areas such as recruiting, onboarding, safety, and compliance. This position serves as a key resource for employees and managers, providing direction and support while performing various HR and administrative tasks to enhance HR operations.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to controlled entry and greet incoming vendors and visitors at the reception desk.
  • Act as the first point-of-contact for HR inquiries, directing customers to appropriate HR staff members.
  • File employee documents and assist with year-end archiving.
  • Create FedEx labels and prepare purchase orders for the HR department.
  • Coordinate employee recognition programs and maintain gift card supply.
  • Manage various employee programs and drives, such as Toys for Tots and Food Drives.
  • Order flowers and plants for employees in significant situations.
  • Coordinate the annual service awards lunch event.
  • Maintain the employee badging system and troubleshoot access issues.
  • Order supplies for the HR department and maintain the company telephone list.
  • Update labor law and legal posters annually and maintain employee bulletin boards.
  • Serve as vendor interface for on-site amenities like coffee machines and vending machines.
  • Maintain the Open Position List and manage job postings on various platforms.
  • Act as the primary recruiter for temporary, intern, and designated regular hire positions.
  • Send out offer letters and new hire packets, and coordinate pre-employment requisites.
  • Prepare new hire packets and facilitate new hire orientation.
  • File Workers' compensation claims and maintain communication with third-party administrators.
  • Coordinate ergonomic evaluations and maintain related spreadsheets.
  • Serve on the Safety Council and maintain safety metrics.
  • Manage safety-related communications and maintain safety bulletin boards.
  • Track and maintain evacuation and disaster reports, and update the Safety Manual.
  • Serve as lead liaison to Area Safety Coordinators and provide training and support.
  • Manage online and on-site safety training programs and verify training requirements.

Requirements

  • HR experience with an emphasis in recruitment and safety.
