About the position

The HR Specialist role is focused on supporting various human resources functions, including recruitment, performance evaluation, and employee orientation. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining employee records, generating HR reports, and promoting a positive workplace culture. The HR Specialist will also assist in coordinating employee recognition programs and ensure compliance with company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in monitoring performance evaluation program by informing supervisors and tracking overdue evaluations.
  • Assists in recruitment efforts, administers pre-employment tests, conducts interviews, and prepares for new hires.
  • Ensures adequacy of new hire documentation and conducts New Employee Orientation.
  • Coordinates maintenance of permanent employee records and updates personnel files.
  • Develops and produces various HR reports, including employment and attendance reports.
  • Maintains recognition and awards programs and coordinates company parties.
  • Inspires and motivates others to perform well and accept feedback.
  • Provides support and feedback to employees to encourage growth.
  • Promotes and observes safety and security procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2 years of previous experience in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Knowledge of company policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and HRIS/Sage systems.
  • Knowledge of human behavior and motivational factors affecting employee performance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to act as a role model within and outside the company.
  • Ability to prioritize duties as workload requires.
  • Ability to maintain a positive and respectful attitude.
  • Demonstrated flexible and efficient time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Leadership experience (2 years preferred).
