About the position

The Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) HR Specialist position is a pivotal role within the WDI HR team, located in Lake Buena Vista, FL. This role is designed for individuals who are ready to embrace an extraordinary opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and innovative environment. The HR Specialist will support a wide range of HR projects, workstreams, and service requests, leveraging their comprehensive understanding of The Walt Disney Company (TWDC), Disney Experience (DX), WDI, and industry HR policies and practices. This position is not just about managing tasks; it is about maximizing the impact of HR business partnerships and delivering exceptional service and results. In this role, the HR Specialist will synthesize diverse information, prioritize a variety of needs, and communicate effectively with leaders, team members, and subject matter experts. They will serve as a point of contact for client-related inquiries regarding HR policies, processes, leaves of absence, corrective actions, and staffing needs. The HR Specialist will also be responsible for assessing and acting on requests promptly, tracking progress, and communicating any additional support needs to the appropriate sources. This position requires a proactive approach to documenting and maintaining standards, best practices, and protocols related to HR policy administration. The HR Specialist will work closely with HR leadership, Organization Management, and Global HR Operations (GHRO) to support resource planning processes and reporting. They will establish and maintain strong relationships across the WDI HR organization and client groups, providing guidance in the administration of HR-related policies and procedures. This includes managing position management, organizational chart management, local recognition programs, and employee development offerings. Additionally, the HR Specialist will provide valuable insights to leaders and HR Business Partners (HRBPs) in developing talent solutions and career development resources. They will also coordinate onboarding and offboarding activities and support intern programming and events as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Support resource planning processes and reporting in partnership with HR leadership, Organization Management, and Global HR Operations (GHRO).
  • Establish and maintain strong business relationships across the WDI HR organization and client groups.
  • Advise and provide guidance in the administration of HR-related policies and procedures, including position management and organizational chart management.
  • Administer local recognition programs and employee development offerings.
  • Provide information to leaders and HRBPs for talent solutions and career development resources.
  • Document, organize, and maintain standards and best practices related to HR policy administration.
  • Provide reports on HR projects/research and present findings to leaders and partners.
  • Coordinate vetting of Imagineers for special events and speaking engagements.
  • Coordinate and support onboarding and offboarding activities.
  • Support intern programming and events as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in an HR client-facing professional role.
  • Strong service orientation with a demonstrated ability to effectively partner both internally and externally.
  • Solid knowledge of HR systems, policies, and processes including SAP, Workday, hiring approval process, performance management process, and talent and succession planning processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels within the organization.
  • Approachable style with the ability to connect with employees and establish rapport.
  • Proven ability to work with confidential information while exercising sound judgment and decision-making.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly ambiguous environment while being flexible and adaptable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Project, and Planner.
  • Ability to effectively manage project work while balancing priorities.
