The HR Specialist will be involved in a wide range of activities, from managing the recruitment process to ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, particularly in both English and Spanish, and will have a solid foundation of 3-5 years of experience in human resources. This role requires a proactive approach to staffing, organization, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. In this position, the HR Specialist will manage the requisition process for open positions, ensuring timely follow-ups with candidates throughout the hiring process. They will be responsible for scheduling and overseeing pre-screening and background checks, as well as communicating results to candidates. The onboarding process for new employees will also fall under their purview, including conducting orientations and managing necessary paperwork. Additionally, the HR Specialist will assist with payroll audits, manage health benefits enrollment, and coordinate training sessions for employees. They will also be tasked with maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local HR regulations, ensuring that the company adheres to all relevant laws and standards. The HR Specialist will be expected to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality, upholding the company's code of ethics and conduct. They will also participate in safety meetings and contribute to workforce management reports, providing valuable insights into HR metrics such as new hires, terminations, and organizational changes. Responsibilities

  • Manage the process of requisitions for open positions
  • Follow up with candidates regarding their status throughout the hiring process
  • Schedule and manage the pre-screening and background checking for candidates
  • Review results of pre-screening process, background checks, and references
  • Ensure correct communication is provided to candidates that do not pass pre-screening and background checks
  • Manage the onboarding process for new employees including conducting new hire orientation
  • Provide appropriate new hire information to payroll department
  • Assist in completing payroll audits on a monthly basis
  • Order appropriate safety and personal protective equipment for new employees
  • Schedule training for employees and follow up to ensure completion
  • Schedule supplemental insurance meetings and coordinate with employees
  • Manage health benefits enrollment on a monthly basis
  • Manage the performance review schedule by sending out weekly reminders to management
  • Schedule, prepare, and attend annual open enrollments
  • Schedule, prepare, and attend annual employee surveys
  • Manage and review annual DMV checks for employees
  • Provide verification of employment letters upon request
  • Complete workforce management reports including HR management monthly reports
  • Attend and follow up on assigned action items for safety meetings and Fixed Ops
  • Establish personal performance goals consistent with company standards
  • Understand the terminology of the business
  • Know and understand federal, state, and local requirements governing HR management
  • Follow all attendance and punctuality standards
  • Follow the Company Code of Business Ethics and Conduct
  • Understand and follow all work rules and procedures
  • Uphold the company's non-disclosure and confidentiality policies
  • Maintain a professional appearance and orderly work area
  • Attend pertinent training and company meetings as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated success in staffing
  • Ability to multi-task and stay organized
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
