About the position

Responsibilities

• Assist employees with onboarding and HRIS entry and updates.
• Review and explain benefit plan information to employees.
• Ensure compliance with COBRA and coordinate enrollment with benefit providers.
• Maintain HRIS with employee benefit elections and current cost data.
• Process employee status changes in the HRIS timely.
• Coordinate new employee orientation meetings and conduct exit meetings as required.
• Administer employee injury processes and interface with worker's compensation carriers.
• Assist with ACA filings including 1095C and 1094 forms.
• Coordinate employee engagement initiatives and events.
• Administer unemployment claims process through JOBS4TN.gov.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field.
• Minimum of three years of job-related experience in a human resource department.
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive situations.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

• SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification.
• Prior experience in higher education.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish.
