About the position

The HR Specialist role at North Georgia EMC is designed to provide comprehensive support to the HR department, focusing on various aspects of human resources administration, including employee relations, benefit administration, compliance, recruitment, and performance development. The position aims to enhance employee engagement and ensure effective HR processes are in place to support the organization's goals.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain positive working relationships with all employees to support company policies and improve employee goodwill.
  • Recommend policy and procedure improvements to enhance company culture.
  • Support management in deploying HR policies, programs, and initiatives.
  • Manage all aspects of recruitment and talent acquisition.
  • Oversee onboarding processes for new employees.
  • Process new hire, termination, and retirement election forms and notifications.
  • Assist with investigations on employee-relations matters.
  • Develop and standardize sustainable HR processes and share best practices.
  • Partner with management and employees regarding benefits, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct periodic wage surveys and make recommendations for local wage structure.
  • Assist in data collection and analysis for monthly reports and organizational analysis.
  • Responsible for annual Affirmative Action Planning, EEO, and Veteran reporting.
  • Work closely with HR vendors and establish new relationships as needed.
  • Assist with benefit administration and the annual open enrollment process.
  • Provide support for evaluation and administration of 401(k) benefits and other insurance options.
  • Coordinate educational opportunities regarding benefits and wellness programs.
  • Ensure timely and accurate issuance of required notices and documents.
  • Support year-end processes related to performance and compensation reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources or a minimum of 7 years of related HR experience.
  • PHR or SHRM HR certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in HRIS.
