About the position

The HR Summer Internship at UTHealth offers students a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in Human Resources, specifically within the Employee Engagement functional area. Interns will work closely with seasoned HR professionals, supporting initiatives aimed at enhancing workplace culture, engagement, and retention. This paid, on-site internship runs for 40 hours per week from June 2, 2025, to August 8, 2025, and includes participation in various training and engagement events.

Responsibilities

  • Support initiatives to enhance workplace culture, engagement, and retention.
  • Assist in organizing and analyzing engagement data.
  • Support new employee orientation.
  • Gather feedback to improve the overall employee experience.
  • Facilitate at least one bi-weekly meeting with the internship cohort.
  • Attend and complete all training modules, webinars, tours, and other training activities as scheduled.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled student or recent graduate of a bachelor's program with a major in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, or a closely related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet applications.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Strong motivation and capacity to learn.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills.
