About the position

The HR Summer Internship at UTHealth Houston offers students a paid opportunity to gain hands-on experience in Human Resources, specifically within the Payroll & Benefits department. Interns will engage in various HR operations, participate in planning events, and collaborate with seasoned professionals to enhance their understanding of HR functions.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute the UTHealth Houston Benefits Fair.
  • Conduct interviews with payroll staff to gather insights and propose enhancements.
  • Participate in monthly internship engagement events with fellow interns.
  • Attend and complete all scheduled training modules, webinars, and tours.
  • Facilitate at least one bi-weekly meeting with the internship cohort.
  • Learn and adapt to required technology for the role.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled student or recent graduate in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, or a closely related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet applications.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills.
