About the position

The Human Resources (HR) Systems Analyst II serves as a crucial link between the HR Systems team and the Corporate and Field HR business teams. This role focuses on providing systems support and analysis, leveraging technology solutions to meet the HR Department's needs. The analyst will lead, evaluate, analyze, design, and implement complex projects within the Workday application, specializing in areas such as Time Tracking, Absence, Payroll, and Benefits. The position requires making alterations and configurations to systems and gathering requirements from end users while acting as a liaison between vendor technical support and Republic Services.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for Workday Time Tracking, Absence, Payroll, and Benefits.
  • Perform complex Workday configuration changes.
  • Create test scripts and conduct tests to ensure processes meet predetermined goals.
  • Research, design, test, and implement configuration changes for process improvements.
  • Configure Workday for time tracking, including time entry, time-off requests, work schedules, and overtime policies.
  • Ensure accurate setup of absence policies, accrual rules, and eligibility criteria.
  • Interpret absence reports to monitor trends and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Support Workday Payroll configuration, including maintenance of pay groups and deduction codes.
  • Understand payroll calculations, including gross-to-net and tax computations.
  • Support Workday integrations with external payroll systems and benefit providers.
  • Configure benefit plans, including eligibility rules and enrollment processes.
  • Provide general support for core HR processes, ensuring no errors with intersections between time, absence, payroll, or benefits.
  • Generate reports in Workday using standard or custom-built reports.
  • Identify and resolve issues within Workday functionality and data discrepancies.
  • Articulate project expectations to team members and communicate on project-related issues.
  • Provide project support for Workday module implementations and upgrades.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience in Workday configuration and support, with at least one year of direct experience in Time Tracking, Absence, Payroll, and/or Benefits.
  • Workday certifications in relevant areas are preferred.
  • Experience with system development life cycle.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret HR systems technical and procedural documentation.
  • Ability to collaborate with Workstream Leads, HR, and business leaders to define and implement requirements.
  • Understanding of human resources and payroll concepts, processes, and procedures preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, and experience with other Microsoft Office software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Workday certifications in Workday Time Tracking, Workday Payroll, Workday Absence Management, and Workday Benefits.
  • Experience with system development life cycle.
