About the position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist at The University of Texas at Tyler is responsible for managing the full cycle recruitment process, which includes job postings, applicant screening, onboarding, and providing support for temporary staffing. This role involves collaborating with hiring managers to meet their recruitment needs while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all aspects of recruitment, selection, and onboarding within assigned areas.
  • Review actions/contracts for new hires and transfers, including background checks and processing eForms.
  • Partner closely with hiring managers to understand their recruitment needs.
  • Provide high-level customer service to hiring managers regarding recruitment and staffing issues.
  • Create and maintain job postings in the applicant tracking system.
  • Utilize various recruitment channels to attract candidates.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified talent through effective sourcing strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records for job postings and candidate information.
  • Prepare recruitment reports as needed.
  • Assist hiring managers with temporary staffing needs and work with staffing agencies.
  • Conduct pre-employment verifications and screenings.
  • Collect and maintain recruitment file documents and provide guidance on the hiring process.
  • Assist with preparing new hire offer letters and onboarding documentation.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree required.
  • Two years of full cycle recruiting experience or five years of overall experience in Human Resources.
  • Strong understanding of the recruitment lifecycle and best practices.
  • Knowledge of relevant Federal, State, and Local labor laws impacting recruitment.
  • Ability to prioritize workload with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in an academic and/or healthcare environment preferred.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft or similar ERP system preferred.
