About the position

The CT Tech position at Mason General Hospital involves performing computed tomography procedures and diagnostic radiology exams while ensuring patient safety and care. This part-time role requires working 12-hour day shifts and is represented by UFCW. The position is essential for providing high-quality imaging services and assisting radiologists in various procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all computed tomography procedures and diagnostic radiology exams.
  • Provide care and safety for patients undergoing CT procedures.
  • Operate CT scanners and related equipment following radiation safety procedures.
  • Position patients for CT scans using immobilization and protective equipment as necessary.
  • Assist with X-ray related duties including Fluoroscopy, General X-ray, C-arm operations, and portable X-ray exams.
  • Assist radiologists with imaging procedures, including starting IVs and injecting contrast.
  • Evaluate CT scans for technical quality and collate processed images in sequence of exposure.
  • Dispense oral contrast to patients for CT scans.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and document according to established standards.
  • Develop and maintain professional and clinical skills, completing all annual competency and education requirements.
  • Assist in the orientation and training of new CT technologists.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited training program in radiologic technology.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current active status with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Washington State Certification in Radiologic Technology.
  • ARRT CT registry required within 1 year of employment as a CT technologist.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or within 180 days of hire.
