About the position

The HRIS and Payroll Specialist is responsible for maintaining the integrity and reliability of the organization's HRIS while managing and processing payroll functions. This role ensures that payroll is processed accurately and on time, in compliance with government regulations, and that HR systems meet the needs of the HR department.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for HR systems used in the organization.
  • Collaborate with HR team and key organizational members to determine HR system objectives and develop plans to modify or enhance applications.
  • Prepare reports and present findings and recommendations to the VP, Human Resources.
  • Implement process improvements and policy changes to enhance efficiency and user experience with HR systems.
  • Ensure security, end-user access, and data integrity across all HR platforms.
  • Prepare training materials, guides, and documentation for all HR systems.
  • Provide user training and hands-on support to all employees.
  • Conduct all regular and off-cycle payroll processes.
  • Maintain and review payroll processing systems for timely and accurate payroll transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
  • Three to five years of related HRIS and payroll experience required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and technical support skills.
