About the position

The HRIS Payroll & Benefits Specialist at Mate Precision Technologies is responsible for overseeing the maintenance of the HRIS system and providing professional administration in payroll, benefits, wellness programs, compliance reporting, and HR metrics. This role acts as a trusted partner to employees and leadership teams, ensuring smooth operations and compliance across all HR functions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain HRIS operations with a focus on data integrity, security, and performance.
• Update and manage employee records, including payroll, benefits, and tax information.
• Process payroll for US, Canadian, and Belgian employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Handle payroll changes, reconciliations, and compliance activities.
• Manage benefits enrollment, change reporting, and qualifying events.
• Support open enrollment, new hire benefit activities, and COBRA notifications.
• Collaborate on leave management, including FMLA, ADA, and workers' compensation.
• Ensure compliance with EEO, AAP, OSHA, and other federal/state reporting requirements.
• Support employee appreciation events, wellness efforts, and safety programs.
• Create engaging employee communication materials.
• Identify opportunities to enhance systems and processes.
• Generate HR reports and provide actionable insights for leadership.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in HR or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of HRIS experience and 2 years in payroll and benefits.
• Familiarity with Paylocity is a plus.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently.
