About the position

The HRLY Teacher for Adult Vocational Industrial at McFatter Technical College is responsible for creating and maintaining a classroom atmosphere that fosters high expectations and enthusiasm for learning. This role emphasizes the integration of critical thinking skills, application skills, interpersonal skills, and technology into a curriculum that aligns with district and state standards. The ultimate goal is to achieve measurable student achievement gains for all students. The teacher will utilize various assessment strategies, both traditional and alternative, to support the continuous development of learners. Effective communication with students, parents, and stakeholders is essential to ensure a collaborative educational environment. In addition to assessment and communication, the teacher will engage in continuous professional development to enhance their skills and contribute to the school's improvement. They will employ instructional strategies that promote critical, creative, and evaluative thinking among students, while also considering the diverse backgrounds and learning styles of each student. Adherence to ethical standards and regulations is crucial, as the teacher must fulfill contractual obligations and assist in enforcing federal, state, and district regulations. The teacher will establish a positive learning environment that supports the intellectual, personal, and social development of all students. This includes planning, implementing, and evaluating effective instruction and assessment across various learning environments. Collaboration with peers, parents, and the community is vital for the continuous improvement of educational experiences. The integration of appropriate technology into teaching and learning processes is also a key responsibility. Additionally, the teacher must complete training and obtain the necessary endorsements if assigned to work with Limited English Proficient (LEP) students. Record-keeping and accountability for school property are also part of the role, along with performing other duties as assigned by the principal.

  • Plan, align, implement, and evaluate effective instruction and assessment in various learning environments.
  • Collaborate with peers, parents, and the community to improve educational experiences.
  • Integrate appropriate technology in teaching and learning processes.
  • Complete training and obtain endorsements for working with Limited English Proficient (LEP) students.
  • Maintain school records and prepare required reports.
  • Account for all school property and report to the principal or superintendent.
  • Promote compliance with equal employment and non-discrimination policies.
  • Ensure adherence to safety procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the principal.

Requirements

  • Appropriate State of Florida certification.
  • Computer skills as required for the position.
