The Data Entry Clerk for Revenue Cycle plays a vital role in the healthcare organization by ensuring the accurate input and management of data related to patient billing, payments, and insurance claims. This position is essential for the smooth operation of the revenue cycle, which encompasses everything from patient registration to the final collection of payments. The ideal candidate for this role is detail-oriented, possesses strong data management skills, and has a solid understanding of healthcare billing processes. In this position, the Data Entry Clerk will be responsible for accurately entering patient information, billing details, and insurance data into the electronic practice management system. This includes updating and maintaining records of patient interactions, payments, and adjustments. The clerk will also verify and correct discrepancies in patient billing and demographic information to ensure that all data is accurate and up-to-date. Additionally, the Data Entry Clerk will assist in processing insurance claims by verifying patient coverage, entering claim information, and releasing claims to the clearing house. Following up on pending claims is also a critical part of this role. The clerk will coordinate with billing and coding teams to ensure that all necessary information is included for accurate claims submission. Furthermore, the clerk will support the collections process by entering payment data and assisting in resolving outstanding balances. Regular reviews of data entries will be conducted to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA. The Data Entry Clerk will also be responsible for identifying and reporting any inconsistencies or errors in the data entry process to the Revenue Cycle Supervisor. Participation in audits and quality control checks will be necessary to maintain high standards of data accuracy. Collaboration with other departments, such as patient registration, coding, and finance, will be essential to streamline data flow and improve the efficiency of the revenue cycle. The clerk will respond to inquiries from internal staff regarding billing information and ensure that all data entry activities comply with healthcare regulations, including patient privacy and data security standards. Handling sensitive patient information with confidentiality and integrity is paramount in this role.

Responsibilities
