About the position

The HS Assistant Wrestling Coach at Wayland Union High School is a seasonal position focused on supporting the Varsity Coach in instructing athletes in wrestling techniques and strategies. The role emphasizes skill development, team building, and effective communication with various stakeholders, including parents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Support Varsity Coach in instructing athletes for competition by teaching technique and promoting team building.
• Represent the Wayland Union District positively and professionally when dealing with opponents, officials, players, parents, and spectators.
• Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and students.

Requirements

• Knowledge and ability to teach technique and strategy involved with wrestling.
• Proven ability to enhance athlete skill development.
• Basic first aid skills and concussion training.
• Prior high school and/or college wrestling experience preferred.
• Familiarity with rules and policies of MHSSA and the Wayland Union Board of Education.
