About the position

As a High School Daily Substitute Teacher at Charter Schools USA, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that students continue their education smoothly in the absence of their regular teacher. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about inspiring young learners and are committed to the mission of providing an academically rigorous education that prepares students for success in college and careers. You will be responsible for following lesson plans, managing student behavior, and maintaining the established routines of the classroom.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and schedules with the principal or designated teacher before the teaching day.
• Teach lessons prepared by the absent teacher.
• Report daily activities in writing and provide feedback as requested by the principal.
• Follow all school and CSUSA policies, rules, and procedures.
• Consult with the principal or supervisor before initiating any lesson not specified in the teacher's plans.
• Maintain established routines and procedures in the classroom.
• Oversee pupil behavior in class and during the school day as requested.
• Maintain appropriate student behavior throughout the school day.
• Maintain good relations with faculty and staff.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• Completion of District's Substitute Workshop (as required by the district).
• Demonstrated enthusiasm and commitment toward the job and the mission of the company.
• Ability to work and interact with staff at all levels of the organization.
• Strong time management skills including prioritizing, organizing, and scheduling.
• Basic computer skills including Windows (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written, including active listening.
