About the position

The HSE Hazmat and Environmental Compliance Programs Manager at Ferguson Enterprises will serve as the technical authority and strategic partner in managing environmental and hazmat risk exposures. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, while also providing guidance and leadership in environmental compliance programs. The position is hybrid, allowing for a mix of office and remote work, and involves significant interaction with various stakeholders to develop and implement compliance strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and technical leadership regarding environmental compliance programs including hazardous waste, stormwater, air emissions, and management of hazardous materials.
  • Develop criteria and monitor procedures to ensure adherence to regulatory and company requirements.
  • Work with cross-functional data users to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Lead state-specific programs to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Develop and improve environmental compliance policies, programs, and training in accordance with governmental agencies.
  • Communicate policies and deliver training on a timely basis to applicable locations.
  • Compose and submit required hazmat/chemical reporting for applicable locations and jurisdictions.
  • Monitor and advise leadership of potential impacts related to changes in regulations.
  • Establish protocols and lead response for environmental and hazardous material complaints, spills, and releases.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance and assess risk.
  • Supervise and work with consultants on relevant projects or reviews.
  • Attend and present at critical meetings as requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 5+ years of experience in HSE or compliance management.
  • Proven expertise in program management and regulatory compliance.
  • Exceptional project management skills.
  • Stellar communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Knowledge in diverse training methodologies.
  • Familiarity with training development tools and platforms, including Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional certifications in HSE or compliance management.
  • Experience with vendor selection and negotiation.
