About the position

The HSE Manager at COBRA Industrial Activities Inc. is responsible for implementing and managing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) systems in accordance with OHSAS standards. This role involves overseeing health and safety rates, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for various projects, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and conducting audits and training. The position requires a proactive approach to accident investigation and root cause analysis, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with subcontractors and site personnel.

Responsibilities

• Implement a management system and plan for OHS according to OHSAS standards.
• Control and update health and safety rates, objectives, and KPIs for projects.
• Develop specific OHS plans, safety procedures, and emergency procedures.
• Redact and update HSE induction and training content.
• Review pretask talk records and work permits system.
• Audit control of subcontractors and implementation of HSE plans and procedures.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, including flash reports and high potential cases (HIPOs).
• Control the number of active records for OHS inspections on site.
• Redact procedures for machinery review according to the color coding system.
• Implement HSE log book updates and record findings at the project level.
• Review daily HSE site inspections and close non-conformities (NCs).
• Participate in internal and external audits and support HSE meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in an engineering or technical discipline.
• 4-5 years of experience in the health, safety, environmental, and regulatory work environment, preferably in construction of photovoltaic solar plants.
• OSHA 500 Certification.
• Advanced computer skills to produce reports using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Spanish is valuable.
• Ability to work as a team player.
