About the position

The HSE Supervisor at Metso is responsible for implementing and supporting the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) program. This role focuses on preventing injuries and environmental accidents by identifying hazards, providing safe tools, training employees, and inspecting work sites. The position requires collaboration with the regional HSE manager to develop a robust safety culture and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an HSE program across field services projects.
  • Participate in fostering a good safety culture.
  • Implement and maintain preventative procedures to minimize risk to employees.
  • Prepare reports detailing current HSE activities.
  • Investigate and report on accidents/incidents, maintaining necessary paperwork.
  • Update emergency plans and conduct regular safety exercises.
  • Ensure compliance with local and customer safety requirements.
  • Understand customer needs and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Maintain positive customer relations and keep them informed of current policies.
  • Conduct regular HSE field services audits and inspections.
  • Evaluate contractors and suppliers regarding safety, health, and environment.
  • Analyze operational risks before work commences.
  • Work towards a zero-accident target by analyzing all accidents and incidents.

Requirements

  • Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
  • OSHA/NIOSH Certifications and relevant experience.
  • Background in HSE, particularly in Field/Site services, Mining, Construction, or Engineering.
  • Good knowledge of MSHA and OSHA regulations.
  • Strong leadership and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven communication skills and understanding of customer needs.
  • Knowledge of HSE development and trends.
  • Proficient in computer skills, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently.
  • Demonstrated skill in creating and implementing effective HSE strategies.
