About the position

The HST Space and Special Technical Operations Subject Matter Expert (SME) position at Valiant Global Defense Service Inc is a full-time role focused on supporting the ARNG Mission Command Training Support Program. The SME will provide training and coaching to ARNG Division and Brigade Commanders on the integration of Space Operations and Joint Special Technical Operations within the context of Joint Multi-Domain Operations and Decisive Action Training Environment. This role involves collaboration with various military commands and requires extensive experience in military operations and training management.

Responsibilities

  • Replicate the SSTO as part of the Movement and Maneuver Warfighting Function and serve as the Higher Command SSTO staff principle.
  • Teach, train, and coach the SSTO to synchronize with U.S. Space Command and other military commands in support of division lines-of-effort.
  • Integrate, monitor, and provide space support to operations for targeting, navigation operations, and warfare.
  • Manage the Division's IJSTO and ACCM programs and execute their employment in support of joint operations.
  • Participate in tactical battle-rhythm events that drive training unit Mission Command processes.
  • Assist in the delivery of daily Air Tasking Orders, Operational Summaries, and Operations Plans and Orders.
  • Prepare and issue Joint Exercise Lifecycle Products in both analog and digital formats.
  • Coordinate, train, and manage HICOM augmenters provided by the training unit's State JFHQ.
  • Prepare, submit input, and participate in exercise After Action Reviews.
  • Integrate SSTO into the overarching 'road-to-war' scenario and assist in developing a Master Scenario Events List for training objectives.
  • Support pre-exercise staff exercises in training Commanders and Staff in various operational processes.

Requirements

  • At least twenty (20) years of experience in the Army (active Army, Army Reserve, or Army National Guard).
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience with exercise planning using the JELC process.
  • Senior Army leadership experience with training management backgrounds and Combat Training Center experience.
  • Successfully served as a Division SSTO or Corps/JTF SSTO for a minimum of two years.
  • Experience in large-scale live and constructive exercises and familiarity with Army Command and Control Information Systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Graduate of a military Senior Service College preferred.
  • Experience commanding at the Battalion or Brigade level.
