HUB Assistant

About the position

The HUB Assistant position at West Marine involves supporting all operations of the West Marine Pro Hub under general supervision. The role is crucial for maintaining Hub operations, especially in the absence of the Hub manager, and focuses on delivering excellent customer service while managing order selection, packing, and shipment processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all West Marine Pro Hub operations under the supervision of the Hub Manager.
• Coordinate order selection, packing, and shipment of products.
• Provide timely information to Hub, Store, and Inventory Managers as needed.
• Load and unload van deliveries as directed and perform returns according to standards.
• Deliver excellent customer experience with every interaction.
• Execute pick, pack, and ship processes to meet service level agreements (SLAs) for product fulfillment.
• Utilize efficient methods for pulling products to optimize time.
• Ensure the shipping station is neat, clean, and organized at all times.
• Replenish packing and shipping supplies daily.
• Identify and escalate any bottlenecks impeding fulfillment to the Hub Manager.
• Assist PRO customers with in-store purchases and product selection.
• Assist with put backs and store restocking.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.
