About the position

The HUB Operations Coordinator plays a crucial role in load planning and coordinating freight assignments at a HUB location. This position involves monitoring inbound and outbound freight, providing guidance to station personnel, and serving as a liaison between the freight-forwarding station and the AIT Middle Mile Network HUB operation. The coordinator is responsible for ensuring effective communication, training, and guidance related to HUB operations, while also addressing service failures and enhancing operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate daily with station managers to enhance usage of the AIT Middle Mile Network.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for routing freight into the AIT Middle Mile Network.
  • Provide guidance on load quality and expectations to dock personnel.
  • Make routing suggestions based on service level requirements.
  • Process updates to the AS400 system with departure and arrival information.
  • Coordinate daily taskings and adjust priorities as necessary.
  • Provide loadouts for linehauls scheduled, ensuring proper paperwork is attached.
  • Collect and present information regarding activity to the HUB Operations Supervisor or Domestic Transportation Manager.
  • Proactively communicate with customers regarding shipment status.
  • Conduct investigations regarding misrouted freight and discrepancies.
  • Perform daily dock checks and process inbound/outbound documents accurately.
  • Inform KPI status of HUB Operations for presentation to management.
  • Communicate with Corporate Operations Team regarding additional loads and routing requirements.
  • Conduct activities with minimal supervision and provide training to others.
  • Develop relationships with LTL carrier partners for ease of business.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of Transportation or Logistics background required.
  • 1+ years of LTL or HUB Operations experience preferred.
  • 1+ years of Freight Coordination or Customer Service experience preferred.
  • 1+ years of Dangerous Goods Handling preferred.
  • High proficiency in customer service, dispatch, and freight routing.
  • Ability to analyze data and translate it into actionable solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex issues.
