About the position

The Analyst position within the Firmwide Compensation team at Goldman Sachs focuses on developing and implementing compensation strategies and policies to attract and retain top talent. The role involves collaboration with various departments, providing analytical support, and mentoring junior team members, all while ensuring alignment with the firm's overall strategy.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic advisor to design compensation programs and deliver projects in line with firm and divisional strategy
• Lead compensation benchmarking initiatives by working with consultants and HCM peers, providing key findings to senior leadership
• Partner with cross-functional HCM teams to advise and structure new hire compensation packages
• Engage with the Firmwide Compensation team to identify continuous improvement and automation opportunities
• Analyze hiring and attrition trends to advise senior stakeholders on attracting and retaining talent
• Design compensation programs and policies, including modeling financial costs and implementation strategies
• Manage compensation budgets and administer the year-end compensation process
• Mentor and develop junior team members
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in an analytical field such as Finance, Accounting, or Mathematics
• 1+ year of relevant work experience
• Highly proficient in analyzing large data sets and presenting results
• Ability to manage multiple, time-sensitive projects with a focus on quality
• Strong attention to detail and excellent follow-through
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work with Excel, including vLookups, Pivot Tables, and advanced formulas
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
