About the position

The Area HR Generalist will play a crucial role in supporting the HR department and ensuring the smooth operation of employee relations functions. This position will be responsible for addressing employee concerns, managing conflict resolution, and promoting a positive work environment. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, a thorough understanding of HR best practices, and a passion for fostering a healthy workplace culture. In this role, the HR Generalist will serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues within the assigned area. They will conduct investigations into employee complaints and grievances, ensuring timely and fair resolution. The Generalist will provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices, facilitating conflict resolution and mediating disputes to maintain a positive work environment. Additionally, the HR Generalist will develop and implement employee relations programs and initiatives to enhance employee engagement and retention. Collaboration with the HR team is essential to ensure consistency in policy application and adherence to legal and regulatory requirements. The Generalist will also maintain accurate and confidential records of employee relations cases and documentation, assist in the development and delivery of training programs related to employee relations, conflict resolution, and workplace behavior, and stay current with HR trends, legal updates, and best practices to ensure compliance and effective employee relations management. Participation in HR projects and initiatives as needed will also be part of the responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a HR Generalist role with a focus on employee relations.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification.
  • Experience in the industry.
  • Advanced conflict resolution or mediation training.
