About the position

The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center (UNM HSC) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Human Research Review Analyst to join our Human Research Protections Office. This office plays a crucial role in supporting three Human Research Review Committees (HRRC) and is committed to promoting the safety and protection of individuals involved in human research. The Human Research Review Analyst will be instrumental in providing support, guidance, and education to ensure that research conducted is both ethical and scientifically sound. In this role, the analyst will assist in the development of the audit program, which includes planning, preparation, conducting audits, and verifying the accuracy of reports. The position requires a strong aptitude for technology, as work will be performed using an electronic workflow database system. Attention to detail is paramount, as the successful candidate will need to identify potential regulatory issues and provide technical support and procedural guidance to team members, researchers, and reviewers. A strong customer service approach is essential to facilitate effective communication and collaboration within the team and with external stakeholders. The Human Research Review Analyst will also be responsible for miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned, contributing to the overall mission of the Human Research Protections Office. This position is a full-time role located at the Health Sciences Center in Albuquerque, NM, and is non-exempt, offering an hourly pay range of $18.81 to $25.56. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment and will have experience in human research settings, making them well-suited to support the office's objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of the audit program.
  • Perform audit work including planning, preparation, conduct, and verification of accuracy of reports.
  • Provide technical support and procedural guidance to team members, researchers, and reviewers.
  • Identify potential regulatory issues and address them appropriately.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration within the team and with external stakeholders.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Experience with preparing applications and/or other documents to the Institutional Review Board (IRB) is a plus.
  • Experience with multitasking in a time-sensitive and high-volume work environment.
  • Experience in a human research setting.
  • Experience in a compliance-driven environment.
