About the position

The Human Resource Coordinator at Stanley Black and Decker will be an integral part of the Tools & Outdoor team, focusing on employee relations, staffing activities, and maintaining compliance with employment regulations. This role involves managing employee engagement initiatives and promoting health and safety awareness while supporting the overall HR functions within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage employee relations including counseling, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
  • Oversee staffing activities such as recruiting, job postings, selection process, and orientations.
  • Receive, record, and process daily call-off information.
  • Communicate information regarding layoffs or recalls to affected associates as needed.
  • Handle time and attendance approvals using software like UKG and Workday.
  • Lead employee engagement activities such as community outreach and focus groups.
  • Process, file, and maintain employment records in compliance with regulations.
  • Participate in and lead rapid improvement events as needed.
  • Promote health and safety awareness and policies.
  • Update job knowledge through continuous education and seminars.
  • Attend departmental meetings as required.
  • Actively participate in the SBD Organizational Excellence program.
  • Perform other departmental tasks as assigned by the Director or designee.

Requirements

  • Outstanding employee relations skills with a strong customer focus.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proven experience in project development and management.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced technology skills, including proficiency in MS Office, Workday, and UKG.
