About the position

The Human Resource Generalist at Walgreens Distribution Center plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive HR support across various functions, including employee engagement, performance management, recruitment, employee relations, and compliance with employment laws. This position collaborates with leadership to implement HR strategies that align with business objectives and fosters a positive work environment. The HR Generalist is responsible for maintaining employee records, supporting recruitment efforts, and promoting a culture of recognition and engagement within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with leaders to implement HR strategies and programs.
  • Provide coaching on organizational policies and practices.
  • Conduct recruitment efforts for exempt, nonexempt, and contingent workers.
  • Support new employee orientations and monitor career pathing programs.
  • Consult with managers on absenteeism, turnover, and workforce data.
  • Assist team members with inquiries regarding employee benefits programs.
  • Attend facility meetings to communicate company news and initiatives.
  • Maintain employee records related to attendance, leaves, and disciplinary actions.
  • Inspire a culture of celebration and recognition to drive engagement.
  • Support the launch of annual engagement surveys and analyze results.
  • Mentor and train less experienced HR staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree OR High School Diploma/GED with at least 3 years of HR experience.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, Labor and Employment laws, including Workers' compensation, FMLA, ADA, and OSHA.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of HR experience OR High School Diploma/GED with at least 5 years of HR experience.
  • Experience with Labor Relations.
  • Experience in distribution, manufacturing, or production environments.
  • Strong time management skills for prioritizing and organizing multiple projects.
