About the position

The Human Resource Generalist I position at Purem Novi Inc is a multifaceted role that encompasses a wide range of human resource functions. The primary objective of this position is to support the HR department in various capacities, including recruiting, HRIS administration, new hire orientation, and ensuring compliance with state, federal, and local regulations. The incumbent will be responsible for managing employee time and attendance through the E-Time system, ensuring that any exceptions are corrected daily. This includes issuing points for disciplinary actions, managing benefit balances, and assisting supervisors with scheduling and training on the system. In addition to these responsibilities, the HR Generalist will process all new hires and terminations using the HR checklists, ensuring a smooth onboarding and offboarding process. This includes conducting training sessions for new employees and maintaining accurate records of employee files, both hard copy and electronic. The role also involves supporting recruitment efforts by writing and posting job advertisements, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and conducting background checks. The HR Generalist will assist employees with the ADP Self Service Portal and manage temporary employee records, including enrollment and termination in the E-Time system. The position requires a proactive approach to monitoring compliance with HR-related regulations, including safety, sexual harassment, discrimination, and wage and hour laws. The HR Generalist will prepare job descriptions for review, assist with communication meetings, and track leaves of absence, including FMLA. Participation in the Safety Committee may also be required, along with other duties as assigned. The role demands a high level of confidentiality and the ability to synthesize complex information to support the HR Manager in decision-making processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage E-Time and follow-up with supervisors to ensure exceptions are corrected daily.
  • Issue points for disciplinary actions and manage benefit balances.
  • Create and revise schedule patterns and shifts, assisting supervisors as needed.
  • Process all new hires using the HR 'New Employee Checklist'.
  • Conduct onboarding for new employees and temporary staff, including training sessions.
  • Process all terminated employees using the HR 'Termination Checklist'.
  • Prepare and submit the Perfect Attendance list to payroll quarterly.
  • Prepare monthly reports for the HR Manager regarding length of service increases.
  • Support recruiting efforts by writing and posting job advertisements, screening candidates, and scheduling interviews.
  • Reset user passwords in ADP and assist employees with the ADP Self Service Portal.
  • Issue and revise badge access for employees.
  • Manage temporary employee records, including enrollment and termination in E-Time.
  • Maintain employee hard copy files and electronic HRIS files for accurate data management.
  • Investigate payroll-related issues and report findings to the HR Manager.
  • Create purchase requisitions and process invoices in SAP.
  • Administer locker assignments and assist with employee issues and concerns.
  • Update monthly charts and monitor audits related to HR regulations.
  • Prepare job descriptions for HR Manager review and approval.
  • Assist HR Manager with monthly communication meetings and tracking FMLA time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in Human Resources.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to maintain utmost confidentiality.
  • Strong analytical skills to synthesize complex information and design workflows.
  • Understanding of federal and state regulations related to HR.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with HRIS systems, particularly ADP.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 and TS16949 quality standards.
  • Familiarity with safety and environmental policies.
