About the position

Freeport-McMoRan is seeking a highly skilled Human Resources professional to perform complex HR-related duties at a professional level. This role encompasses various functional areas including employee relations, labor relations, recruitment, training, compliance, and recognition. The successful candidate will administer HR policies and procedures, collect and analyze HR data, and assist the HR Manager with assigned tasks while making recommendations to management. The position also involves coaching and supporting new HR team members, leading employment and compliance-based investigations, and acting as the company's sole representative during legal and binding arbitration processes to resolve disputes with employees. In collaboration with site HR and Operations leadership, the HR professional will provide advice on HR and labor regulatory issues, ensuring effective performance management and alignment with company policies. The role requires implementing cost-effective HR solutions to attract and retain necessary skills, as well as facilitating change management and stakeholder engagement. The HR professional will be responsible for protecting employee privacy regarding personnel records and implementing HR goals and practices to build organizational capability. This includes guiding leaders and employees on company policies and monitoring compliance with federal, state, and local laws. The position also involves analyzing HR metrics such as turnover and overtime reports to inform workforce planning and forecasting initiatives. The HR professional will perform other duties as requested, contributing to a dynamic and supportive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex Human Resources related duties at a professional level.
  • Administer HR policies and procedures.
  • Collect and analyze HR data and assist the HR Manager with tasks as assigned.

  • Analyze HR metrics to determine appropriate actions and support workforce planning.

Requirements

  • Master's degree and one (1) year professional human resources experience; OR Master's degree and two (2) years related industrial or manufacturing employee relations experience; OR Bachelor's degree and two (2) years professional human resources experience; OR Bachelor's degree and three (3) years related industrial or manufacturing employee relations experience; OR High School Diploma/GED and six (6) years professional human resources experience.
  • Understand business operations from both a strategic and tactical perspective.
  • Experience with core aspects of Human Resources Management (staffing, employee relations, labor relations, performance management, leadership development, training, etc.).
  • Experience working within a dispute resolution process.
  • Experience in independently leading an investigation process.
  • Ability to address and resolve workplace conflicts.
  • Ability to coach and influence leadership at all levels of the organization.
  • Must possess a consultative/collaborative style and approach with proven ability to develop credible relationships with business partners.
  • Must be a confident communicator, effective at all levels of the organization.

Nice-to-haves

  • Degree in Human Resources Management, Business or related discipline.
  • PHR/SPHR Certification.
  • Mining or Industrial Setting Experience.
