About the position

The Human Resource Generalist at MNA Toledo will provide onsite HR support for the plant location, acting as a liaison between plant personnel and the corporate HR department. This role encompasses various HR functions including timekeeping, personnel management, compliance with company policies, and problem resolution. The HR Generalist will also be involved in hiring, employee relations, and maintaining personnel records.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between the facility and the corporate Human Resources department regarding time reporting and personnel issues.
  • Administer company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance.
  • Maintain up-to-date personnel, medical, and termination files.
  • Perform hiring and termination of employees and contract help.
  • Place personnel orders with temporary staffing agencies and interface with them regarding their employees.
  • Examine time reports and make changes or corrections via the time & attendance system.
  • Distribute paychecks to employees.
  • Process changes of address, benefit changes, and new hire paperwork.
  • Distribute employee badges for time reporting and building access.
  • Maintain and update the Guardian security system.
  • Generate, compile, and collect report data through time & attendance and payroll systems.
  • Administer the employee appraisal program at the plant level.
  • Answer employee HR-related questions and assist in problem-solving.
  • Interface with supervisory employees for problem resolution and routine reporting functions.
  • Post internal and external job openings as needed.
  • Assist in planning and organizing the annual company picnic and other special events.
  • Represent the company at public events.
  • Perform miscellaneous clerical functions for the HR department, including memo writing and filing.
  • Perform special assignments as delegated.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or business-related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in human resources, benefits, and payroll desired.
  • Computer literacy with demonstrated experience in the MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills required.
  • Ability to work well under pressure with minimum supervision in a fast-paced environment.
