About the position

American Display & Fixture (ADF) has an immediate full time opening for an experienced Human Resources Generalist. We are looking for an individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to support diverse HR functions. As the HR Generalist, your role will be instrumental in cultivating a positive work environment. Position reports to the HR Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Executes and implements the administration of company-wide human resources policies and practices.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, staying current with updates and changes.
  • Familiar with HRIS and HR data systems, preferably Paycor.
  • Assist HR with the facilitation of orientations, onboarding, and training.
  • Knowledgeable in ADA, FMLA, workers compensation and employee benefits.
  • Helps in the management and processing of leaves of absences.
  • Serve as a resource to employees regarding work-related inquiries including payroll, benefits, work related injuries, safety and company policies.
  • Preparing or updating employment records related to hiring, transferring, promoting, and terminating in a confidential manner.
  • Ability to commute within Chattanooga and Dalton locations to assist with HR functions.
  • Ability to work in multi-cultural facilities and to work with non-English speaking employees.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and staff on employee relations issues including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of Employee Engagement Events (benefits enrollment, employee recognition events, organization-wide meetings and celebrations) fostering positive employee experiences aligned with the organization's values and goals.
  • Performs other duties based on the needs of the HR department and business needs.

Requirements

  • Prefer Minimum of 3+ years' experience in Human Resources
  • Very proficient of Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.)
  • Ability to clearly communicate (written and verbal.)
  • Ability to be flexible and multi-task in a fast paced, deadline driven environment as well a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Exhibits high degree of discretion, judgment, and confidentiality.
  • Occasionally, work outside normal business hours as needed.
  • Experience with temporary agencies is a plus.
