About the position

The Human Resources Generalist at Metropolitan Healthcare Services will support the operations of the Human Resources Department under the supervision of the Director of Human Resources. This role involves managing daily HR functions, including onboarding, compliance, training, benefits administration, and payroll. The Generalist will ensure adherence to employment laws and best practices while maintaining a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training and continuing education.
• Conduct background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
• Implement new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
• Administer and execute human resource programs including compensation, benefits, and leave management.
• Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• Stay updated on trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in HR and employment law.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in a related field.
• At least 5 years of professional HR experience in a generalist capacity.
• HRIS experience, particularly in application implementation, is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Thorough knowledge of federal and local labor laws and regulations.
• Ability to generate HR reporting and perform data analysis.
• Experience in reviewing and creating HR-related policies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in human resources management for 5 years (preferred).
